Traffic and Ranking
There are many ways that can generate free traffic for your sites. In fact, you don’t have to spend a cent; all you need is the proper mindset and a lot of eagerness. You also must have the drive and perseverance to do hard work and research to generate them.
How sweet it is to have more traffic for your sites without spending a single cent. With the versatility the internet offers, however, it becomes true. But to say honestly, it may take time. I’m not going to beat around the bush with you. You get better chances by paying for your advertisements, but at least you get a fighting chance with some of these free methods I’m about to tell you.
Take advantage of online forums and online communities. The great thing about forums and online communities is that you can target a certain group that fits the certain demographic that you are looking for. You can discuss about lots of things about the niche that you represent or offer. Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into and you will be prepared.
With online communities and forums you can build a reputation for you or your company. Show them what you are made of and wow them with your range of expertise about the subject, with that you can build a reputation and build trust with the people in your expertise and knowledge.
You can also make use of newsletters. Provide people with a catalog of your products and interesting and entertaining articles. If you make it really interesting and entertaining, more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to other people. The more people who signs up for your newsletter, the more people there will be that will go to your site increasing your traffic.
Another great idea is trading links with other sites. You don’t have to spend a cent. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster. With exchanging links, the efforts both sites do will benefit both sites. Every traffic that goes to the site could potentially click on the link of your site and visit your site as well. This works well especially when both sites feature the same niche.
All of the above methods and more will drive more traffic to your sites for free. All it takes is a bit of effort and extended man hours. Learn all you can about the methods depicted here and you will soon have a site with a great traffic flow without the usual costs that come with it.

Nowadays people use social sites not only to meet friends and colleagues online, but to get free traffic from them. You know how important traffic is to the life of your website? Of course you do.
But it is not the same approach as you would adopt on your own website or your own blog. It’s an entirely different mindset. It’s a different way of thinking and it’s a different way of getting traffic. It is all about a user-centric or user-focused experience. It’s all about the actual individual or you as a visitor rather than the website itself preaching to people. It’s about information being pulled rather than pushing information which is what used to happen.
How? It is called as Social Marketing!
People call it social marketing, web 2.0 or new age marketing but the fact of the matter is this – you need to be using the social marketing websites to your advantage because there’s tons of free traffic to be had from them.
The big names like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter and the rest are not only dominating news stories and people’s minds now but starting to play a really big part in driving traffic to marketers pages online. The problem is those social sites don’t like marketers! It’s true! You have to be careful when you are using them that you don’t get banned or caught out. The key is to adopt this simple “4 H’s” approach;
As long as you can inject a little piece of humor into your social marketing profile or even just a little piece of who you really are then you will start attracting lots of friends and widening your network.
You also need to maintain an honest approach throughout. No point uploading photos to your profile of P Diddy or Pamela Anderson pretending they’re. People want to get to know you so be honest.
Have fun! That’s one of the great things about social marketing is that you can have lots of fun doing it. Meeting new people, learning new stuff and making money from the traffic that you get from it all at the same time.
Also remember to help people. The more you can help people the more they will help you in return. So add useful links and recommendations to your profiles. Point people in the right direction and answer any questions people post on your profile or contact you with.

There are only three ways of getting traffic. They are “Buy It”, “Borrow It” or “Create It”. This post will focus on the third way – “Create Traffic”.
3. Create It
If you are not going to spend money to buy traffic and/or you don’t have anything that you can actually leverage, any resources or assets really for borrowing traffic, you’ve got to create it. There’s nothing else left.
Creating traffic includes creating useful content for blogs and websites, creating and submitting articles with swapping links to article publishers, building social networks through social networking, etc.
Content = traffic = cash
You can think the content creation in this way. Every little word that you create is like a few cents. Create an article and that’s like 500 to 1,000 words and that’s like $20 or whatever put out there because you have an article. Create an article every day for a week or a month or a few months and you’ll start to see big traffic coming in. You’ll start getting people on your list and you’ll start to see the value of this. The relevant articles on content creation in this blog are:

- A blog – an efficient traffic sites
- Personal content
- Professional content
- Blog content elements
- How to feed the hungry search engines·
Creating and submitting articles with swapping links to article publishers is called as Article Marketing. It is a type of advertising. You can write short articles related to each respective subject and these articles are made available for distribution and publication in the marketplace. Each article contains a bio box that includes references and contact information for the author’s blog or website. Well-written content articles released for free distribution have the potential of increasing the authoring business’ credibility within its market as well as attracting new clients.
There are hundreds of active article submission sites, but you can choose some favorite ones for yourself. The sites recommended here include Amazon, ArticleCity, GoArticles, EzineArticles, IdealMarketers, ArticleMarketer, etc.
You can also get free traffic from social networking. All these things are interlinked. They’re all intermeshed with each other. Getting content gives you traffic. Article marketing and social networking give you free traffic also. If you have already done in this way, congratulations, you will or have got traffic. If not, you should start creating content for your blog or website, creating and submitting articles to the article sites, and building a network using social networking. As a result of your efforts, you’ll start to see big traffic coming in.
Creating traffic does need to take a little bit of time. It’s not a miracle. It’s not a push-button thing where you just sit there and the traffic rolls in. You should think about what you enjoy doing and what you do best, and that is also going to drive you and steer you towards the product that you’re going to create.

2. Borrow It
You can buy traffic but also you can borrow it. What is borrowing it about? Borrowing it is about doing list swaps, where people will mail out for you if you mail out for them. You can do content swaps so that you’re a guest on other people’s blogs or you give somebody else an article to put on their website and they’ll put one on your website. They do cross promos and joint venture promotions.
We see everybody mailing out about one particular product. That’s what’s called a joint venture. They promote and you give them a commission of your product. You then promote for them if that’s part of the agreement, and you give them a commission on your products and vice versa. That’s borrowing traffic.
You can’t do traffic borrowing at the beginning because you don’t have anything to leverage. You don’t have that list. You don’t have that content to actually trade. You don’t have your own product. You don’t have an existing network of contacts. You don’t have all those joint venture partners, so how are you going to borrow traffic at the beginning?
It’s like a graduation process that you need to actually go through some stages. You need to start to get traffic, build your list, and have a collection of content that you can trade with other people. People will then start saying, “Yes, I’ll take your article and I’ll put it on my website, if you put mine on yours,” and you start to build up these ways of actually leveraging.
Once you’ve done that then you get the things you can leverage. In fact, you don’t need like 10,000 people on your list to start thinking about joint ventures. You can do that with a very small list. With even a few hundred or 1,000 you can start going out and start joint venturing.
Borrowing traffic is an effective and efficient way to enhance your online business if you are capable of doing it. It’s just huge application, especially for the successful online marketers.

1. Buy it
The first way is to buy traffic. You can buy traffic through Google Adwords, banner advertising, ads on people’s sites, ezine ads or pay for press releases or directly buy safelists from different safelist providers.
Generally when people get onto the internet they immediately think, “Okay, I don’t know how to get traffic. I haven’t got the knowledge yet. I haven’t got a list. I haven’t got loads of people visiting my website. I haven’t got a bunch of content. I don’t know where to get traffic. I must buy traffic.” They just chuck a lot of cash at it and then get some traffic.
The bought traffic is a type of temporary one and cannot last long time. Generally they’ve just wasted a few hundred of dollars to get some traffic, but not actually make any sales out of it. However, the paid route can work really well if you’ve got the skills or if you’ve been trained by an expert.
One thing you should bear in your mind is that there are people out there who spend their life working out how to create the best ads on Google, how to advertise using these stuffs. They know that system inside out. They live and breathe that system and they build up multi-million-dollar businesses just on it. If you’ve got very little knowledge in the relevant field and without any training from an expert, it is very dangerous. You cannot beat these guys and get clicks for as cheap as they can because you don’t have the knowledge of how to use Adwords, how to create the best ads, how to split test on the ads, how to write the best headlines, where to send the ads, where to send the traffic, what to actually sell, and so on.
You can buy some safelists at beginning also. Some of them are good but some not. You must learn how to identify them. I purchased several safelists and tried them, and found VirulUrl is an effective one.

Traffic and Ranking
Getting good search engine ranking and website traffic is very important to the online business. Without them, you cannot sell your products or services online. It is worth cataloguing the basic principles to be enforced to increase website traffic and search engine rankings.
- Create a site with valuable content, products or services. Content is the key influencing factor on your traffic. You have got to make it personal and professional.
- Place primary and secondary keywords within the first 25 words in your page content and spread them evenly throughout the document.
- Research and use the right keywords/phrases to attract your target customers.
- Use your keywords in the right fields and references within your web page. Like Title, META tags, Headers, etc.
- Keep your site design simple so that your customers can navigate easily between web pages, find what they want and buy products and services.
- Submit your web pages i.e. every web page and not just the home page, to the most popular search engines and directory services. Hire someone to do so, if required. Be sure this is a manual submission. Do not engage an automated submission service.
- Keep track of changes in search engine algorithms and processes and accordingly modify your web pages so your search engine ranking remains high. Use online tools and utilities to keep track of how your website is doing.
- Monitor your competitors and the top ranked websites to see what they are doing right in the way of design, navigation, content, keywords, etc.
- Use reports and logs from your web hosting company to see where your traffic is coming from. Analyze your visitor location and their incoming sources whether search engines or links from other sites and the keywords they used to find you.
- Make your customer visit easy and give them plenty of ways to remember you in the form of newsletters, free reports, reduction coupons etc.
- Demonstrate your industry and product or service expertise by writing and submitting articles for your website or for article banks so you are perceived as an expert in your field.
- Don’t look at your website as a static brochure. Treat it as a dynamic, ever-changing sales tool and location, just like your real store to which your customers with the same seriousness.
- When not sure, keep asking and learning or hire professionals. Though hiring professional may seem costly, but it is a lot less expensive than spending your money on a website which no one visits.
